Murray Morton, Elder

As a young man (late teens) I experienced a wonderful time of forgiveness from God and loved His Word.  But the world took over and I slid all the way back.  I was determinedly unbelieving for 8 years - no church, no Bible! But my precious wife's faith never wavered. I was baptised again when I and my own family (wife and 4 children) joined the Brighton Baptist Church (now LCC) in 1976. By God's grace, since I was re-converted, I have been growing in Christ and attending this church ever since.  I absolutely love the Bible and God's truth and I love the Lord Jesus.

I have done lots of things in life: electrician, trouble shooter, technician, home handyman, miner (1 month!), sales all over the world, and a builder.  Only had 4 employers - 11 yrs, 2 yrs, 7 yrs & 40 yrs.   One gorgeous wife 54 yrs - Yay!  To God be the glory.

I grew up as part of the Church community, participating in Worship and Youth teams since the 70’s.  Following several years with a Schools Ministry rock band and youth leadership with the local combined Baptist Churches, I joined the Elder’s team in 2006 in a role that now includes overview of Church audio visual and IT systems.  I am an Engineer by profession, am married to Kerryn, have two adult children Annie and Isaac and am passionate about authentic relationship with Jesus.

Together with my wife Elizabeth, we have been members of LCC since 1989 when they moved from Whyalla to Adelaide to live, study and work. We have four children aged 23 to 10 years.

Growing up in the Whyalla Baptist Church community, living as the family of God empowered by the Holy Spirit, left an indelible imprint on my life.  I am convinced that Faith, the Word, Communion and living life together reliant on the Holy Spirit is how we should live despite the worldview where self-sufficiency and making it on your own are admired.  I desire to see Jesus move and work amongst us – So, that the world will know we are his disciples by our love for Him displayed by our love of each other. This is my heart working as a Registered Nurse whether working in a city Emergency Department, a clinic in a remote Aboriginal community or at the University teaching.

In my involvement with LCC worship ministry, my greatest desire is for both believers and those seeking God, to encounter Jesus in a deep and meaningful way when we are gathered through the Holy Spirit moving amongst us.   .

Vicki Bargwanna, Administrator

I love The Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart, soul and mind. My hearts' desire is to live my life for His glory and His kingdom.  Knowing my sins are forgiven and that God is my loving heavenly Father has filled me with a sense of belonging and peace that no man can give.  He is my salvation and my security here on this earth and I could not bear to live without Him.  He is my breath of life! My heart resonates with the words in Psalm 104:33-34. 'I will sing to The Lord all my life;  I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.  May my meditation be pleasing to Him, as I rejoice in The Lord.

Life is full of surprises and one of those for me was to be asked in 2003 to take up the role of church Administrator.  Serving as such since that time has been both a blessing to me yet not without many challenges.  I am reassured in knowing that God is forever faithful and He is all sufficient.  How grateful I am to Him for His amazing grace to me and for the opportunity to serve His church! My desire as Administrator is to support the various ministries of this church in proclaiming God’s gospel concerning His glorious Son, Jesus Christ.
